William Allan Rump (“Wild Bill”)

Our beloved father, William Allan Rump, affectionately known as “Wild Bill,” passed away peacefully in hospital on December 21, 2025, at the age of 75, with his family by his side.

He is lovingly remembered by his children Jamie (Kelly) and Kelly (Pat); his granddaughters Kayleigh and Kelseigh; and his bonus grandchildren Kole, Tanner, Rylee and Tanner.

Bill was born on September 17, 1950, in Huntley Centre. A true entrepreneur at heart, he was always chasing the next great idea. From The Carpet Loft to HAR Elevators, Texas Connection, and Straits Dance Hall & Saloon, Bill never stopped building, dreaming, and trying something new.

He had a deep passion for baseball and was instrumental in starting several teams, including the Huntley Knights, Stittsville 56’ers, and Carp Valley Pride. Known for his quick wit, larger-than-life stories, and unmistakable sense of humour, Bill could light up a room and leave people laughing long after the story ended.

He leaves behind his sisters Beverly (Kevin) and Sandra (John); his sister-in-law Lois; many nieces and nephews; his lifelong friends Bill and Chick, Susan and the Casey family along with countless friends whose lives he touched. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Gladys Rump, and his brother Eddie.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute.

In true Wild Bill fashion, he leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and memories that will continue to be told for generations.
