BEZANSON, William Robert (Bill) June 19, 1943 - August 13, 2026
William Robert Bezanson, B.Sc., B.Eng., M.Eng., P.Eng., FRC., passed through his transition to the spiritual plane, peacefully, at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Ottawa ON, on August 13, 2026, at the age of 83.
Bill is survived by his life partner and wife, Susan Van Sertima; and by their children Ashley (Phil) of Ottawa, Audrey (Paul) of Raleigh, NC, Frank (Claudia)of Belleville, Greg (Carla) of Ottawa, Maureen (Tony) of Alstonville, Australia, and Steve (Shelley) of Ottawa; and by grandchildren Cole, Chase, Calla, Anna, Julien, George, John, Kaden, and Suzy. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Howard and Marie Bezanson, of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, and by his brother, Allan, of Halifax.
Bill was born in New Glasgow, NS, in 1943, and moved to Halifax after finishing high school. At Dalhousie University he graduated with degrees in science and electrical engineering, to the Master's level. He worked primarily in Ottawa, retiring from Nortel Networks in 2001. After retirement, he published eight books on subjects that included systems design, a golden ratio explanation of Beauty, world stewardship, and spirituality. He was proudest of his book I Believe: A Rosicrucian Looks at Christianity and Spirituality, which presented a spiritual restatement of fundamental Christian concepts, including a total rewording of the Nicene Creed, following Rosicrucian principles gleaned from his more than forty years of membership in Rosicrucian orders, and many-year membership in the Anglican Church of Canada. He was a firm knower (not believer, but knower) of reincarnation, and vividly recalled many details of seven of his previous lives. He currently lives on the spiritual plane, where he will be continuing his ongoing research in tracing his physical and spiritual lives and influencing his long-term evolution. His firm expectation is that he will reincarnate into human form again in the 2090 timeframe, likely here on Earth.
He also wrote several books for family distribution only, including books of memories of his mother, his and Susan's children, their pets, his memoirs, and a set of four books in the Bill's Collected Wisdom series.
Bill wishes to be remembered not by flowers, but by donations to individual's preferred charitable or spiritual organizations, and especially by people's memories of his mission in life to try to help to create a spiritual state in this mundane world. Donations to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice are appreciated.
A reception and celebration of life will be held at the Family Home, on August 22, 2026, from 2-4pm.
