Terri Blane

February 16, 1950 — September 29, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terri Blane, who left this world on September 29, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with colon cancer. Terri’s unwavering strength and grace in her final days were a testament to the remarkable woman she was.Terri was the devoted mother of her beloved “miracle” son, Matthew (Kathleen), and the proud Nana of Lucas, whom she loved deeply and spoke of with endless pride. She also leaves behind her cherished granddog, Louie, who brought her endless joy and smiles. Terri was married to Bram, the love of her life. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories until Bram’s passing in 2015. Terri’s family extended to include Bram’s daughters Lorie and Darlene and granddaughter Courtney, as well as countless relatives and friends, all of whom she embraced with the same boundless love and devotion. To Terri, family was never defined by blood—it was defined by the depth of connection, care, and kindness she shared with those around her. Born on February 16, 1950, in Winnipeg, Terri spent most of her life in Ottawa, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She shared a special bond with her sister Jenn (Reg) and treasured the time spent with her nieces, Melanie, Leah, and Allison, and their families at the farm. These moments, filled with warmth and joy, were among her most treasured. Terri had a deep love for animals, which brought her immense joy throughout her life. She adored her pet cats, who were her constant companions, and her beloved dog, Shadow, who was by her side for 16 wonderful years. She even had a pet skunk at one point, a testament to her unique and adventurous spirit. Terri had a zest for life that was infectious. She found happiness in the simple pleasures—curling up with a good book, enjoying spirited games on her computer, and sharing heartfelt conversations with her friends. Her laughter was a gift, her stories were unforgettable, and her love for her family and friends knew no bounds. Terri’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She taught us to cherish life’s moments, to find joy in the everyday, and to hold our loved ones close. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain a part of us. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Humane Society in honor of Terri’s memory.

Rest peacefully now. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
