Oliver, Jorma, Lindquist

age 84, of Stittsville, ON

Died peacefully in hospital, on April 27, 2026, in Ottawa.


Following a brief time at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Oliver majored in electronics and graduated from the Ryerson Institute of Technology in Toronto. During the summers, while in college, he worked at Otter Rapids when the generating station was being built. Oliver enjoyed a career as a Component Engineer. He started at what was then Northern Electric in Bramalea and retired, after 37 years, from Nortel in Ottawa. Oliver was an avid reader and really enjoyed his Kindle. He liked puttering in the gardens, working with wood and never missed a Formula1 race. Born in Timmins, ON on May 26, 1941 to Kaarina and Jalo Lindquist. When Oliver was eleven his family moved to St. Catharines. He loved living in the Niagara Peninsula and had many great times with his best friend Irvin.

Oliver is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Kathleen and granddaughter Lexie of Stittsville; his sisters Nancy Roebuck of San Diego, CA, Beverly Lau (Larry) of Anchorage, AK, Michelle Clemence of Columbus, OH; his uncle Ray (Louise) of St. Catharines, and his sisters-in-law Patricia Lavallee of Niagara Falls and Judith Yurchuk of Oakville. Oliver was predeceased by his mother Kaarina Clemence and stepfather Arthur Clemence and his brother-in-law Alf Roebuck, all of San Diego, CA; and his father Jalo Lindquist of Los Angeles, CA.Oliver and Anne were married on May 3rd, 1969 at Christ Lutheran church in St. Catharines.Oliver was raised in the Lutheran church. Later on he attended St. Andrew's Presbyterian church in Stittsville.

Oliver's cremation was arranged by the Tubman Funeral Homes, Carp Chapel. His family thanks the associates at Tubman for all of their assistance and thoughtful care. Many thanks for the excellent care Oliver received while in the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
