Obituary

On February 25, 2026, Louise Powers-Wagorn passed away peacefully at the Almonte General Hospital after a short but courageous battle with a brain tumour. Louise, who was born in a sleeping bag on the rails of northern Ontario, will be remembered fondly by her many dear friends and family from her school days, to her sports teams, the golf course, and the ski hills she loved so much. She truly lived life to the fullest and brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her fierce independence, contagious laugh, natural gift for storytelling, and deep love of the outdoors never failed to put a smile on those around her. Louise is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Allyson Wagorn; her devoted mother, Helene Powers, predeceased by her father Ronald Powers; her siblings, Andree Powers, Philip Powers (Tiffany), and Robert Powers (Linda). She will also be deeply missed by her beloved nieces and nephew and extended family of countless friends.

Louise’s family would like to thank Dr. Sinclair’s Surgical Team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and Dr. L. Ray & Dr. J. Stewardson and Staff at the Almonte General Hospital for their compassionate care, as well as the amazing number of Louise’s friends that ensured her family was also embraced with love and wonderful meals.

A celebration of Louise’s life will be held at the Almonte Civitan Hall on Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are warmly invited to attend and share their favourite memories.

In lieu of flowers, Louise would like you to save the planet and plant a tree to support her book habit.

Though her page ended mid sentence, she is onto her next chapter...
