Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear Mom and Grandma, Linda Margaret Dods (née Graham) who was born on April 16, 1951 in Shawville, Quebec. She passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026 at Almonte General Hospital, on a lovely sunny morning. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Terry Edgar Dods, and her parents Margaret (McNeill) and Frederick Graham, Linda was a devoted mother to Jason (Lindsay), Andrew (Tracy) and Stephen (Barbara)and a proud and fiercely loving grandmother to Colton, Owen, Landon, Sawyer, Declan and Daisy. Her family and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She leaves behind many loving family and friends who will remember her with love and incredible memories.

Linda grew up in Bristol, Quebec. An only child, she had an extremely close bond with her parents, especially her mother with whom she shared a birthday. Despite being an only child, she counted her many cousins as well as her sisters-in-law as her siblings. They had an incredibly deep connection. She enjoyed most of her summer months at the family cottage in Norway Bay. After marrying her childhood sweetheart, she moved to Ottawa where they settled in Carp, built a home and raised their three sons. She and her family continued to enjoy the cottage in Norway Bay, as her sons and their families will continue to do for years to come. A devoted mother, mother-in-law and loving, supportive wife, Linda’s family were her pride and joy. Though some may have thought her shy, her family and close friends know that Linda loved a good laugh, a gathering of her loved ones, a fun card game and sharing stories, particularly those about her grandchildren. Our memories will be cherished and she will be greatly missed.

We would like to thank the health teams who cared for Linda at both the Ottawa Civic Hospital and The Almonte General Hospital.

Visitation will be held at: Tubman Funeral Home - Carp Chapel, located at 115 Rivingston Street on Friday April 24, 2026 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm

A private inurnment will be held for family and close friends in Norway Bay, at a later date.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Linda’s memory to The Ottawa Heart Institute or Fighting Blindness Canada would be greatly appreciated.
