John David Argue, age 71, of Carp, ON, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his family, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Born in Ottawa on August 31, 1954, to Kathleen and Bill Argue, John graduated from Queen’s University and went on to work for Ontario Hydro for 34 years. He married his loving wife, Janie Argue (Micklethwaite), on July 9, 1977, and together they built a life with their three daughters.

He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, known for his quick wit, generous heart, and dedication to family. He was passionate about tools and was the go-to person whenever someone needed help.

John is survived by his wife, Janie; his children, Kathy (Justin), Meghan, and Alison; and his grandchildren, Ellie, Finn, Leiah, Case, and Tripp. He is also survived by his siblings, Anne (Al), Dan (Deb), Fred (Tricia), and Ken (Christine); and his sister- and brother-in-law, Rachel and Bob. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Alan (Barb); and his brother-in-law, Rob (Colleen).

A funeral service will be held on February 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, 3760 Carp Road, Carp, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s United Church, Carp.
