Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the age of 83. Ivan will be missed by many, as he had the unique ability to leave a lasting impression with all those who were blessed to be called his friends or loved ones. Born in Cornwall, England on June 15, 1943. He was raised by his parents to Joan and John Flockton. Ivan built a career as an Electrical Engineer, retiring from Telesat. Outside of work, Ivan’s passions included running, gardening, woodworking and family. He is survived by his two children Jo (Tony), Dean (Clare); three cherished grandchildren Abbey, Elliott and Vic who were all his favourite; and four younger siblings, Margaret, Jennifer, Anne and John. He was predeceased by his soul mate Sue in 2018.

Ivan will be remembered for joyously running through life. No matter the weather or where he was, Ivan had a pair of running shoes – ready to explore any corner of the world. His journey began exploring the Moors of Cornwall and eventually brought him to the trails of Bridlewood. As the miles added up over the years, his running shoes were accessorized with orthotics and compression socks - a testament to his persistence. Of course, nobody could forget those legendary pink shorts – a testament to his refusal to take life, or himself, too seriously.

A service to celebrate his exceptional life will be held at Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel on Monday, October 12th at 1:00, followed by a reception. 

For those who can't attend, the service will be livestreamed.
