Passed away peacefully at home in his 98th year with family by his side on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Predeceased by his beloved wife Joan of 64 years in November of 2014. Cherished father to Wendy (Richard Taylor) and Cathy (Patrick Lapensee). Proud grandfather to Lauren, Sarah (Rudy Struthers), Brett (Chelsea and Lucas Magliocchetti), Brina Langevin, Kyle Langevin (Shelby Ashton)and great grandfather to Rain, Rogue, Emerson and Hailey. Predeceased by his brother Eric (Winnifred). He will be missed by his brother Alvin (Judy).

Delmer was a long time employee of the Ottawa Board of Education and retired as a building supervisor. In retirement, he continued to hunt and fish and enjoy his cottage on Cardinal Lake. His principal hobbies were building wooden gear clocks and making Swedish weave blankets. Both will be cherished mementoes for the family.

Delmer was very socially active and will be deeply missed by his many friends.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Tubman Funeral Homes - Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Roads) 1st visitation June 2nd, 2026 6:00pm - 8:00pm, 2nd visitation June 3rd, 2026 12:30pm - 2:00pm. Memorial Service June 3rd, 2026 2:00pm, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the Ottawa Mission would be appreciated.

Delmer and Joan will be interred at St. James, Wright in Gracefield Quebec.
