Kenneth White, of Bradford, Yorkshire, England, died peacefully at the age of 91, on Thursday February 28th, 2019, at The Ottawa General Hospital. Ken was born on November 11, 1927 to Beatrice and James White. He joined the Royal Air Force towards the end of World War II and was stationed in the Middle East after the war. At the age of 27, Ken went to work in British Malaya for a large British international company servings Singapore-Malaysia and North Borneo, eventually becoming a director in the company. In the mid 1950’s he met Ranie (nee Jagat Singh) and they married in Penang, Malaysia in 1963. Their son, Adrian was born in 1965. The family moved to Marlowe, England, for several years, before moving to Canada in 1969. In Canada, Ken became the Director of Expositions with the Canadian Restaurant Association.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ken is survived by his wife Ranie, their son, Adrian (wife Anca), his loving grandson Liam and step-grandson, Tristan. Visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd. (at Roosevelt) on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perley and Rideau Veteran Health Centre.
