I was sadden by the news of Bill Osterman's passing. He was a well liked teacher and person. One of the "old guard" at WHS that we all knew and respected. He shaped so many of our lives as we grew up in the halls and classrooms at Westmount High. Bill will be in our hearts and memories forever.

We are sorry to hear that Bill has passed away. Miriam, we send you our deepest sympathy and remember also the children , grandchildren and the greats. Bill was an unusually fine man who will be missed by his family, friends and the community. Warren will remember him as a great swimmer at Lakeview when they were both young men, and as a neighbouring golfer on Curran's Lake. May you be comforted by sweet memories.

My sincere condolences to you David and your family. My dad was friends with Coach Osterman when they both taught Phys. Ed. at LHS. Coach Osterman and my dad graduated the same year from McGill. Glad to see he lived a good, long life.

Dear Mirijam and Family, I remember Mr. Osterman very well from the YMCA Camp Perrot where my parents May and Bob were also on Senior Staff. Your family also lived on 48th Avenue in Lachine, very close to my parents' home but I hadn't seen Mr. Osterman since my Perrot days. However, I remember him so vividly as if it were just yesterday. My sincere condolences to you Mirijam, and your family. Linda Kneeland

To the Osterman family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I played on the Westmount High School basketball team that Bill coached from 1970 to 1972 where we were division winners and city finalists. I also played football and volleyball for Westmount High under Coach Osterman. I went on to play basketball for McGill for 5 years. I learned about good values and teamwork from Coach Osterman and I always found him to be a very decent and good man. I still remember him fondly. My thoughts are with you. Yours truly, David Kassie

Dear Grampy, Thank you for being the best grandfather any little girl could ask for. Thank you for teaching me to swim and dive, to play cribbage, to cross country ski, to square dance, to read comics, to do crossword puzzles, to eat as many cookies as possible, to laugh, and to love. I will miss you very much. You were an amazing grandfather and great-grandfather - a teacher, a story-teller, a swimmer, a camper, a dancer, a joker, a traveler, and just overall a great guy to be around. We will miss you very much. Love Becky, Matt, and Norah Piccoli
