Dear Wayne, as you know our family has been through a similar loss in August, and as you stated, a parent's nightmare and that is what it is. No words can explain the feelings of losing a child, no matter what age. Deepest condolences.

Dear Wayne and Suzanne, Because I didn't know your daughter Shauna, except for meeting her at your birthday party, I took the time to learn more about her by reading the many condolences from people who did. What an amazing young lady; the admiration for her only makes me wish I had known her. Hopefully, all this love will bring you some peace in time. The time you shared as Father and daughter was way too short but you were blessed with a fantastic relationship. I will always remember you sitting on the steps or porch in Tobago making your regular FaceTime connection with Shauna and the kids, it was obvious how important those calls were to you. I would like to echo "Christina", whom wrote so lovely about Shauna, may Shauna continue to grace you with the memories and with her legacy, your beautiful grandkids. Michel and I can not be there today with you and Suzanne but we will be there in spirit. Our condolences to all of you who loved her. Godspeed Shauna! Debbie and Michel.

To The entire Carty/Martin family I offer you my prayers and condolences. Several years ago Shauna and I met through a group of women and BeautiControl. We shared many similar passions and what I most remember about Shauna is what an incredibly caring and kindred soul Shauna was. She shared with me a little of the struggles she had been through and yet when she spoke to me she made me feel special. It is rare to meet someone so very full of love and joy all the time! Shauna will no doubt be sorely missed here among us mere mortals; with her spirit free, I feel she will continue to grace us with many memories, and especially those sparkling smiling eyes. Soar among the angels - I hope to meet you again someday. Christina ?

Wayne, Sheila, and family Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your daughter, wife and Mom. We remember picking Shauna up on Tripp Crescent during her teen years as she babysat for us. We saw her last at Wayne's Birthday party in Stittsville. She had grown into a sweet caring adult and we had a great catch-up. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Shauna was one if those people you never forget. Her sparkly, kind and caring personality were infectious and brought smiles to everyone around her. We first met Shauna while my son was in SK and she made all the difference in an otherwise difficult year. She became a friend to us and we will miss her dearly. Our condolences to all the family.

Our sincere condolences to the Carty/Martin family. When my boys started JK, Regan and Lauren, with out being asked, took it upon themselves to be my boys 'bus buddies''. I would marvel at the care and nurturing they showed to my little guys and often thought what a wonderful mother they must have to demonstrate these attributes, as they were like little mothers themselves. I then was lucky enough to get to know Shauna through parent council and as neighbours and it was clear where her kids got their kindness and loving ways from. Rest in Peace, Shauna

It is such a sad event that one of our "ACES" staff has passed away. The children who were in our original Kindergarten classes have continued to ask about Mrs. Carty and have always wished her the best in her care from her doctors. Shauna was fortunate to have such a loving circle of friends and family who have been there supporting her throughout what has been a very difficult time with much pain. Shauna kept going as she would for her family and those of us watching helpless to do more to keep her such pain. From the "sidelines" we have applauded her for her courage and will to carry on. The "Fight Song" will forever be one in our hearts and thoughts with her. Sheila Hendry (ACES)

Shauna, you laughter, bright light and fight has pushed me to be a better person. Your friendship meant so uch to me. You will be very missed. Thank you for sharing your light and fight with us. Look in on book club now and again. Friends and family, please know Shauna made a big impact on many people, please try and take a small measure of comfort in that. Take care to continue to share your love and comforting with one another. Your admiring friend and book club member, Tracey St.Louis
