Diagnosed suddenly with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia while traveling in Hawaii with her husband Tom and their two youngest granddaughters; Emma Green and Shayla Weedmark. Ruth at the age of 77, passed away on Friday 24, 2017 in the Vancouver General Hospital, while on her early return home. Ruth will be forever missed by her Paris District High School sweetheart and loving husband Tom, of 57 years. Tom and Ruth celebrated 63 years of dating on February 14th while in Hawaii. She was a caring and treasured mother to her three children; David (Joanna), Debra (Greg Weedmark) and Richard. She was also a cherished and devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren; Megan (Max Lafrance), Jason & Emma Green, Blake & Shayla Weedmark and Madison & Zachary Green. She will be fondly missed by her brother Douglas Armstrong (Margaret), of Paris, Ontario and brother-in-law Dr. Gerry Green (Mary), of Cannington, Ontario. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was always caring for her family and loving friends. At her request she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm, at the Carp Agricultural Hall (3790 Carp Road, Carp ON). Those wishing, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
