So very sorry to hear the news. I met Ruth in 1993 at Hylands Golf Club and spent many hours not just on the course (having a great time with a vibrant, funny, exuberant Ruth) but also on the Executive of the club. Ruth was instrumental in the establishment of many of the things taken for granted at the club today and was a dutiful and dynamic representative for member interests. The family wrote that Ruth had a "long and happy life" - and she touched us all in that time. A great lady, my deepest condolences.

Dear Nanny. I miss you so much already. I really appreciated our regular lunches together when i was still in Ottawa. It always amazed me how we could talk about anything. Nothing i asked you about would be too personal to talk about. You gave me honest advice and let me pry into your private life without ever making me feel i was being too pushy. I hope i can be so open with my kids and grandchildren. You helped me understand so much about life. I love how much you showed your love to me. Best of all i loved your sense of humor making tough times not seem so bad. Now that you are in heaven with Grampa again, i picture you happy together and watching over us. I love you and know i will see you and grandpa one day soon. With love, your granddaughter, Julie????

To Ruth and her Wonderful Family, Ruth, we will miss you greatly. I remember playing golf with you 8 years ago and thinking, wow, hope I can still do this at the age of 90!!!! You were an inspiration to us all. Now, we wish you peace, comfort, and much love. And to all of Ruth's family and friends, we wish you the same! Love to all, Vicki and Patrick McCorkle

We came to know “Nana” through our daughter- in – law Beth. We would meet her at family gatherings, usually accompanied by John and Lorrie, Lynn and Ed, and got to know Nana as warm and gracious, but also feisty and direct when defending her views. We will always be grateful to her for beginning the process that brought wonderful Beth into our family. Our condolences go out to the family for their loss. Rest now Nana ... you deserve it.

Mrs Peer was like a second mother to me and always made me feel as one of the family whenever I was at Roosevelt Avenue to spend time with Lynn or, even better, to stay there while my parents were on holidays. Lutz and I will so miss our summer get-togethers to talk about all matters of things: church choirs and sermons, "world affairs" and the Bluejays. Our hearts and prayers are with Lynn, John and all the family. Judy and Lutz, Grossbeeren Germany October 26th, 2015

Dear Ruth So sad for me and your love ones that you have left us to travel to a very mysterious and peaceful destination. I remember the first time we met, you came to our door and introduce yourself and welcome us to the neighborhood. After a cup a tea and some sweets you invited me to join you in yoga classes, which I did. Our friendship flourished and lasted 14 years. We also shared a deep love of animals. Through you, I met your devoted family Lynn and Ed Lorry and John. Bill and I are blessed with their friendship. We will very much miss you Ruth, your energy, your smile, sense of humor and candor. With your children and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews your legacy and values will live on. We will miss you terribly Ruth. Connie and Bill
