On Tuesday, July 25, 2017 Roger crossed over the “Rainbow Bridge”.  His favorite Pal, Happy, waiting to welcome him to Heaven.  Son of the late Anne and Archie Wright of Hamilton, Ontario.  Predeceased by his wonderful brother “Ted”.  Roger was married to Gloria (nee Wagorn) Wright for 59 very happy years.  They met at Lisgar Collegiate in 1952 and remained very special friends ever since.  Roger retired from the Carleton Board of Education, where he enjoyed many stimulating years.   Barbados was Roger’s second home.  He enjoyed 47 fantastic trips to his beautiful island.  He has many terrific “Bajan” friends.  He enjoyed everything about his island, especially Mount Gay Rum, the Yacht Club and Bert’s Bar.  His friends were extremely important and made his visits happy ones.  We would like to thank our family, our many friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness, during Roger’s illness.  We were blessed.  Many thanks to CCAC and Para Med for their excellent care.  Special thanks to Ana who was with Roger on his last night at home.  Ana gave him the strength and courage to continue on.  Special thanks to Basil Gingnac, who was always there to help, he was always understanding and generous with his time.  You are a very special person, Basil.  A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on August 26th, 2017 at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Ottawa from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.  Interment will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Guide Dogs for the Blind would be very much appreciated.
