Bell, Robert (Bob)
1933-2017

Passed away peacefully as the result of a stroke, on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 84. Loving husband to Ruth for 61 years. Cherished father of Kathy (Chris), Greg (Beverley), Marsha (Randy) and Jan (Paul). Much loved grandfather of Kyle (Whitney), Kimberley, Kelly, Jenna (Theo), Kristina (Lee), Emily, Mathew, Samantha, Dan, Jason and Jennifer, and great-grandfather of Olivia, Margaret and Chloe.
A lifelong resident of North Gower, Bob took great pride in raising his purebred North Country Cheviot sheep, while at the same time working as an Economist with the Federal Government for 35 years. Bob was very active in his rural community through St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kars, Scouts Canada, 4H and Richmond Fair. Family was central to Bob’s life and he spent countless hours working with, playing with and encouraging his children, grandchildren and more recently his great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by the whole family and all of his dear friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus) for their compassionate and professional care, and a special thank you to staff and friends at the Court in Barrhaven. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes,1610 Roger Stevens Drive, Kars, on Thursday October 5, 2017 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel on Friday October 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
