Peter passed away suddenly on April 6 from heart failure in Ottawa at age 85. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (nee Havelin) for 62 years. Loving father of Nancy (Paul England) and Ron (Helene). Cherished grandfather of Sarah. Brother of Kathy Boileau (Fern) and Diane Martin (Jerry). Predeceased by his parents Paul and Katheleen (nee Higgins) and siblings Jack (Georgette), Albert (Jeanette), George (Theresa), Lionel, Agnes Laverne, Mary Grace (Morley). Peter had a long career at the E.B. Eddy paper company retiring as Foreman in 1992. Peter was interested in anything to do with construction and all things mechanical. But above all, he loved the outdoors. He was happiest when camping, snowmobiling, boating, golfing, puttering around the cottage or vacationing on the beach in Siesta Key Florida. He was also fortunate enough to have traveled to many parts of the world with his wife Shirley, often in the company of good friends. Peter was outgoing and friendly. He could, and would, strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbours whenever he could. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, at 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (at Bayshore Drive).  Visitation will take place Tuesday April 18, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated. Condolences, donations and tributes may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
