Pauline Murray (nee Lamont) Flynn,  R.N.

Nursing Sister, R.C.A. M. C

Peacefully in hospital on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Henry (Hank) Flynn . Dear mother of Brady (Tara), Maureen and Jennifer Davis (Peter). Grandmother of Ryan (Amanda) and Danny and great grandmother of Emmett and Matthew. Pauline was born in Denfield Ontario, January 23, 1920. She graduated in Nursing from the Toronto Western Hospital in 1941 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in 1943, serving overseas in WWII in England, Belgium and the Netherlands from 1944-1946. Pauline volunteered throughout her life but was especially rewarded by her volunteer work in the Emergency Department at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for 26 years. She was very humbled and proud to have had the opportunity to be involved in so many activities and events that honored our Veterans, not the least of which was having laid a wreath at Vimy Ridge during the Pilgrimage of 1998. Her greatest joy was being at the cottage in Blair’s Grove, sitting on the ledge with Hank as they overlooked the shores of Lake Huron, listening to the sound of the waves and watching the sunset. She will be greatly missed by not only her family but by the many friends and acquaintances she made over the years. Pauline touched so many lives in her 95 years but she always said that she was the fortunate one for having had so many wonderful people be a part of her life even but for a moment in time. Thank you all for your love, respect and friendship. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Memorial arrangements to be finalized for January 2016 in Ottawa – and at Blair’s Grove for summer 2016.
