DAVIS, Paula Mary (nee Worton)

British War Bride

Peacefully and surrounded by family, after a short illness, at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Monday, October 31, 2016.  Paula was in her 93rd year and was born in Arnold, Nottingham, England to the late Elsie and Joseph Worton.  Much beloved wife of the late John Bruce Davis (2005).  Cherished mother of Paddy Williams-MacKinnon (John), Diana, and Carolyn Heymans (Philip).  Adored Nana to her grandchildren, Aunie, Neil, Kathleen and Marisa.  Dearly missed by her brother-in-law Brian Perkins (Sheffield, England) and her sister-in-law Joy Worton (Kingston, Jamaica) and many nephews and nieces in Canada, England, Jamaica and Australia.  Predeceased by her much-loved siblings, Patricia (England) and Harry (Jamaica).  Paula was an inspiration and a spark of love and joy to all who knew her as she dealt with many health issues with stoic patience, humour, dignity and song.  Paula always had a smile and friendly greeting for everyone she met.  A very special thank you to Paula’s angel, Nathalie, who was by Paula’s side through-out her journey.  There are no words to express our gratitude and appreciation.  You were Paula’s miracle.  Thank you as well to the staff and residents of ALC2 in Stillwater Creek for their outstanding care and support, particularly nurses Debbie and Sharan.  A visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Sunday, November 6 from 11:30 am until time of Memorial Service which will be held in the Chapel at 1:30 pm, followed by reception.  Private inurnment at Pinecrest Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Ottawa West Community Support or Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation. Condolences, tributes or donations may be made at  We take comfort in knowing that Paula is now reunited with the love of her life, our father, John.

“Are you smiling?  I am!” – Paula Davis
