Your father was a most interesting character. We shared many conversations about the misadventures of local and provincial education politics. May he rest in peace.

I fondly remember Mr. Fillingham as one of the best teachers I ever had. He made my tenure at Rideau HS memorable.

My deepest condolences to the entire Fillingham family. Your father was one of the "senior" department heads when we started at the newly built J.S. Woodsworth S.S. in the mid 70's. Having known and worked with your father for many years, I saw the interesting and interested geographer and traveller, the fearless and outspoken critic, the sentimental but also irascible individual that Norm was. The loss of your mother, Jean, was a hard time for him and I can only hope that they will be reunited as that striking couple they were at so many staff parties. Sharing in your sorrow at your father's passing, Angie (Spence) Kelly

Dear Ann and family; Frank and I were so very saddened to just hear of Norm's passing. He was a wonderful man and always had a smile and a story when we met. Penny's Uncle Ken Robinson shared Norm's passion for the Ham Radio Club and we would like to imagine that Ken was there with your Mom and many departed good friends to greet Norm as he entered the Heavenly Gates. Much love and many prayers to you and yours. Frank and Penny. ??

To my cousins Geoff, Ann and Doug and all the rest of the Fillingham family, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your Dad. I hadn't seen much of Uncle Norm in recent years but I do have good memories of him from when we would visit you all in Manotick when we were just kids. He used to always say at the dinner table "press you to a roll". Can't say I ever really understood it back then but it still makes me chuckle to recall it. In later years Alana always spoke fondly of him ( and Aunt Jean) for the care and support they showed her when she studied at Carlton. RIP Uncle Norm.
