On May 27th, 2017 we lost our beloved step -mother, -grandmother and -great grandmother, devoted aunt and a beautiful soul.  Muriel Johnstone (nee Becksted) passed away at Embassy West Retirement Home, just one month after being admitted after a series of falls.  She was the treasured wife of the late Ray Johnstone, who predeceased her on January, 24, 2015.  They were married for 37 years.

Muriel is survived by her step children, Linda Clark, Alan Johnstone, Cindy Laprade and Melissa Lapensée, 11 step grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was also the cherished Aunt Moo of Richard, Caryl and Jim Becksted and Jane Smith.

Muriel was born and raised in Morrisburg, Ontario.  She was the youngest of four children of the late Matthew and Emma (nee Deeks) Becksted.  She is predeceased by all her siblings, Clare (Ruthine) 1982, Dwight (Eileen) 2013, and Eleanor (2013).   She is also predeceased by her first husband, Hubert Henderson (1970).

Muriel had a long and wonderful career including working for 33 years for Ottawa Chiropractor Daniel Komesch, whom she greatly admired.

Muriel was a beautiful woman, inside and out.  She had a kind and gracious soul.  She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all.

Our Lord and Saviour has now called her home.
