My sincere condolences. I was a border of Joan's when I attended Algonquin College during a very formative period of my life. I'll always remember her warmth, graciousness and generosity. She always gave 100% of herself to others, a truly altruistic human being. She will be deeply missed, but her example of what it is to live an ethical life, is what I will always carry with me.

I was privileged to know Joan Kabayama and consider her a friend. She was a very interesting woman who lived courageously, despite severe disabilities toward the end. May she rest in peace, knowing that she has left many cherished memories.

Dear Maki and Family, It's been many years since I danced with the Folk Dance class (along with Marjorie Cook), but I remember you so fondly and the amazing woman that you called mom. We have lost a great women's advocate and I'm so lucky to have known her daughter. Please accept my sympathies.
