Dear Brian, We were shocked and deeply saddened by Heike's passing. I don't doubt that she fought her adversary with every breath, her strengh, determination and joy was an inspiration to me for all of the years we swam together. Please accept our sincere sympathy for your loss. Ken and Sally Johnson.

Brian, I just learned the shocking news of Heike's passing. I worked with her for many years before I retired two years ago. We often had great conversations in the hallways. She was always so excited to go on her annual winter vacation and spend time with you and her son (if you went down under!). Heike was an inspiration to anyone who was looking to get fit and full of practical advice. I'm very sad I missed the memorial. My heartfelt condolences to everyone who loved her. France

Dear Brian, I am so profoundly sorry to hear about Heike’s passing. Carole and I offer you our sincerest condolence. I am thankful that you were able to be there to comfort her. I remember when first we met on the OBC ride to Cornwall: Heike’s spirit and determination on that ride was inspiring to me. Over the years since, I saw her spirit persevere in all of your endeavours. I will always be grateful to both of you for helping me with my own challenges. I regret that I will not be able to attend the service as I am in Toulouse right now, but my thoughts are with you. Carole and Lee Fasken

Dear Brian Our heartfelt condolences to you. Words cannot express how we are saddened by your loss. One thing is for sure, the love that you two had for each other was unbreakable. For this we are truly grateful that you had the experience of that LOVE. She was an amazing soul and we know that you two adored each other and did everything you could do together . You were a formidable sports team too! We feel very privileged that we did get to meet her when you were here in SA a few years ago. She will live on in our hearts forever. We hold you in our hearts as you embark on this journey of sorrow. We will keep sending love to you and we wish you only comfort, love and healing through this time. We are sorry we cannot be physically there with you through this time , just know we are with you on spirit. All our Love Sylvia, Peter, Bianca , Devon, Hans and Traudie xxx
