Peacefully in the presence of his family at Queensway Carleton Hospital on April 16. Beloved son of the late Ernest Sicard and Dorina Albert; loving husband of Diana Sicard (née Prud’homme) of 58 years; dearest father of Dr. Joanne Sicard (Fathy El Shennawy) of Ottawa, François of Ashland, MA, and John (Pina) of Kanata; doting grandfather of Alexandre, Nicholas, Aisha, Leila, Julia, Safia, and Ali; dear brother of Rita Richard (Gaston) of St-Basile-le-Grand, Michelle Giguère (Jean-Jacques) of Montréal, Gaston (Claudette) of Candiac, André (Yvette) of Montréal, and Pierre (Jocelyne), deceased. Mr. Sicard was born in Montréal, the eldest of six. Following his graduation from Collège Mont Saint-Louis, he enlisted into the RCAF in Jan 1951, where he acquired the nickname “Zeke” and served as navigator in a CF-100 Canuck and later as a recruit coordinator. He survived a fire in a Mitchell bombardier in 1955 over Alberta. He was the recipient of the Canadian Forces Decoration and the Special Service Medal (NATO-OTAN). After retiring from the RCAF in Oct 1977, he was administrator at The Sacred Heart School of Montreal. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in 1981 and was a part-time tax accountant in his retirement. He was a communicant of the St Isidore Parish. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, sailing, organ music, and relaxing at the family cottage on Lac Gagnon in Duhamel, QC.
