NORRIS, Eleanor Bridget Jean
(nee Higgins)
January 4, 1925 – September 4, 2017
Peacefully passed away surrounded by loving family on September 4th, 2017 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her beloved husband Clifford George Norris. Dearly loved mother of Mary Jane (Stephen Adcock), George, John (Evelyn Hamilton), Heather (Ron Halka) and Joe (Lynn Choquette). Loving Nanny of 10 grandchildren (Sarah and Robert; David and Jennifer; Leah, Joey and Hannah; and Matthew, Kristine and Brent) and three great-grandchildren (Thomas, Emma and Alexander). Fond Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Eleanor, born in Ottawa, was the daughter of Hugh Higgins and Jenny Aird-Partridge, with family roots in the Algonquin community of Pikwakanagan (Golden Lake) where she spent her childhood summers. She met her husband Clifford in Gatineau, where they spent many happy years raising a family and hobby farming in the countryside. Special thanks to the staff at Prince of Wales Manor and the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, for their care and support for Eleanor over the past several years.
