Our deepest condolences on the loss of Diane. We remember her as always smiling and enjoying her life. She was a great hockey mom. She came to all of Ben's games and took part in all the after game activities with the other families. We're very saddened by her leaving.

Derek and family, I can't say "I know how you feel" because I have never lost someone so close to me as you and Diane. She was a lovely woman inside and out. You and she made me feel so welcome when I first moved to Kars, Diane even gave me post office box near the top because I am tall! I hope the memories you share together give you some comfort in the days ahead. Sincerely, Tania

I first met Diane on August 6th 2013 when I was given the opportunity to be an Acting Postmaster in Her Family Store/Home Post Office that was only thought to be for 3 weeks but lasted 2 years. During that time I was able to be a small part of her family working with Lucie and Ben for Canada Post and having all of Derek and Diane's children work in the store next to me. Diane also helped my Daughter Samantha do her Grade 12 co-op for a Month at her Friends Horse Farm. I'm honored to have been able to be a small part of Diane's life and to have met her Special Family that I hope to be Friends for life. Mike Primeau

When I think about growing up in Kars, memories of going to the store and being greeted by Diane with warmth and a huge smile immediately come to mind. She and your entire family have given such an enormous amount to our community over the years, something for which my family and so many others are forever grateful. Sending love and light in this time of tremendous loss. May we one day rename the Main Street in Diane's honour.
