Gayle and family. I have very fond memories of Dave beginning with Northern Affairs. When he moved to Yellowknife I took over his position at headquarters in Ottawa. It was always a pleasure to work with Dave; he was a true professional. On my trips to the North I had the privelige of traveling to some remote locations with Dave and those are cherished memories. On numerous occasions I enjoyed the hospitality of your home in Yellowknife for which I was most appreciative. After Northern Affairs I pretty much lost touch with Dave until a chance meeting with Sandra in the grocery store last winter (I still don't know how I recognized her) when I learned that Dave was living at Peter D. Clark which happens to be next door to our condominium. I was able to visit him and do some catching up and reminiscing. Our last visit was just 3 or 4 weeks ago when you and Dave were out for a walk. He was a good man and I am glad that I had the opportunity to know him. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Dearest Gayle and family my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time - sad for the end of the life of a real gentleman but relief that his pain is now over. My memories of David are of a lovely person who I counted as a close friend both in the UK and later when I lived in Ottawa for a while. With much love, Gwynneth

Ever so many years ago - decades I guess - I worked with Dave in Northern Affairs. We never worked together closely, but would often be attending the same meetings or talking to the same senior people. I don't remember much about Dave's technical competence which I'm sure was there, but I do remember how nice he was. Being with him was always easy. There was never any sense that he had the right answer and you didn't - there was always a recognition that all points of view were worthy of consideration. That is what I liked about him.

I fondly remember Dave from the 1970-80's in the Dept. of Indian and Northern Affairs for his perpetual sense of humour and cheerful disposition. A true gentleman.

Dear Gayle, While saddened by Dave’s passing I am relieved that his struggle is over and he is finally at rest. He endured so much as have you and your family over these past years. I’m sure many happy memories will comfort you all at this time of sorrow. The gallery of pictures brought back many memories of long ago times. My thoughts are with your all. Love Willa

Gayle and family, It was an absolute privilege to have known David and your Gayle for such a short period of time. That our husbands' passed away within minutes of each other is mystic and yet comforting. The first thing I noticed about David was his wit, matched Larry's almost to a T! Johanne

Gayle; Karyn, Heather, Sandra and families: It was with sadness that we learned of the passing of Dave. At RMC he was a senior of mine and within the Ottawa Branch of the RMC Club of Canada he had been a regular participant in our luncheon meetings and dining events. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. We remember him as a fellow cadet, brother officer, colleague and friend and on behalf of of the RMC Club and Ottawa Branch, we extend our sincere condolences to all family members with our wishes for comfort and peace. May the soul of David Gee rest in peace. J. R. Digger MacDougall Royal Military College Club of Canada President Ottawa Branch

I had the privilege of working with Dave in the mid 70's in Northern land management. He was an affable and thoughtful manager who tried to bring out the best in all his employees and working with him was a pleasure. His passing is a loss to all who knew him but a wealth of wonderful memories will no doubt linger on. My sincere condolences go out to all his family. Bryan Lymburner

I am sorry to learn of Dave's passing. My condolences to you, your girls and extended family. I well remember greeting you at Shrivenham in what seems eons ago. Your enthusiasm, despite some of the travails in housing, was undiminished. We're Reg still living I know he would be expressing his admiration for a fellow officer. Shirley
