I was privileged to sing with Cynthia as a member of the Ottawa Choral Society for many years. I am so glad we became friends. She was so engaged with music in all forms, and was always full of energy and fun as well as being so caring and warm to all around her. We will miss her so. My sympathies to her family. May the thoughts of friends help you in the days ahead.

Denis, Mary, Ian and Jane- It is with great sadness I write this message tonight after hearing from Mom of Cynthia's passing. My memories of Cynthia bring a smile to my face. She was beautiful, talented and so full of life and laughter. She quickly found a place in our family ! I know she is sitting at the table in heaven with my Dad laughing with him as she did so many times here on earth. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this terribly difficult time. Love, Janet

Mary and family...we are so sorry for your loss. For years we have heard such wonderful, animated and warm stories about Cynthia, and your family and Denis too. Even though we did not know her personally, her character and uniqueness of a mom, teacher, wife and grandmother came out so clearly from the fondness in your heart…and your memories you shared with us. Thinking of you and Bruce, and the girls, and all your family. Christine Wilby Paul Coulombe

Mary and family, I'm heartbroken to hear of the loss of your wonderful, unique - and dare I say it, hilarious - mom. She had such a striking personality and joie de vivre. I will always have very fond memories of her. I'm sending love and hugs as you grieve this tremendous loss. xo

We were classmates from grade one through thirteen, sang in the same church choirs and, for a time, lived just up the street from one another. After graduating, I didn’t see Cynthia again till the 1991 high school reunion, on which occasion I was impressed and somewhat surprised by how directly and clearly she expressed herself, and it wasn’t till thinking about it later that I realized she’d always done so and that what had changed was my being mature enough, now, to appreciate it. My condolences to all … Tom
