WILSON, Barbara Merlene (née Shea)

Barbara went peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the age of 83 with her beloved husband Bruce curled up beside her as she took her final breath. Dearly loved by her children, Wendy, and Dave (Kortney).  A proud grandma to her adoring grandchildren, Jett, Sullivan, and Lennox.  Barb was predeceased by brothers Earl (Gilda), Bernard (Patsy), and Nelson (Yvette) and sisters Melba (late Harold) and Pearl (late John).  She will also be remembered by brother-in-law Allan (Elaine), sister-in-law Marion (Brian), several nieces and nephews.  Her spirit, her infectious smile and her love of shoes and all things leopard print will not be forgotten and she will live on forever through the book of quotes that she wrote a few years ago. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to dear friends Maureen and Kelly who were by her side, caring and loving her tirelessly in the last months. To the amazing staff at Barrhaven Manor for their care and support – thank you. Barbie was a gem. She loved people and she loved to laugh so we hope to see you and have a toast and a giggle in her honour. Please join us at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 1:00 – 3:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  A service celebrating Barb’s life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 am.  Interment, Pinecrest Cemetery with a reception following at the Barrhaven Legion.   For those wishing, a donation to the Heart Institute or Scleroderma Society of Ontario would be appreciated.   Feel free to wear something leopard print to help celebrate her.
