On Tuesday, June, 18th at the Queensway Carleton Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved wife of Brian Cowan. Survived by sister-in-law Carmen Todd and several nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, June 22nd at 11am at St James Anglican Church, 224 Edmund Street, Carleton Place. Interment at the parish cemetery to follow. After a short illness, Jean passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in her 81st year. Jean was a long-time resident and very active member of the Manotick community. Beloved wife of Norman for 54 years. Loving mother of Geoff (Lisa), Ann (Jon Gee) and Doug. Cherished grandmother of Kendra and Laura, Bruce and Derek. Predeceased by her sister Claire Hermiston. Passed away at Forest Hill Long-term Care Facility, Kanata on Friday, June 14, 2013 age 86 years. Beloved husband for 61 years of Margaret. Loving father of Leslie Van Adel (Jim), Duncan (Cindy) and John. Grandfather of Michael (Lindsey), Julia (Ryan), Dylan and Alanna. Great grandfather of Benjamin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother James (Alfreda). Ian was of proud Scottish heritage and retired from CBC after 44 years of service. Tom also leaves his brothers-in-law John (Pat) and Eddy, his sister-in-law Rose (Maurice) and his mother-in law Exavilda, along with many nieces and nephews and good friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Evelyn, his first wife Veronica (Mordovanic) and father-in-law Zoël. At Tom’s request, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Gatineau, Quebec (300 L’Abbé-Murray St). Peacefully on Monday June 10th, 2013 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital with her family by her side. Beloved daughter of Robert and Mary Fitzgerald. Dear mother of Marta , Steven (Teresa McGovern) and Scott (Anne-Marie Desormeaux) and mother-in-law of Tony Patricelli. Loving grandmother of Vince, Ryan, Paris, Brendan, Meghan and Jaime and great-grandmother of Taryn and Alina. Cherished sister of Constance Herringer, Mary Bigalow, Deira Murphy, Rowena Maxwell and Roberta Pigeon. Dear friend of Pina Bruno. Predeceased by her siblings Bebhinn Vincer, Moira Morgan, Patrick Fizgerald, Francis Fraser and Clare Odierna. Born in Ottawa on Feb 17, 1936, Ann was crowned "Carnival Queen" as a 12 year-old at the Brewer Park Carnival in 1948. She was a sweet person who made friends instantly and loved to smile, laugh and sing -- especially on St. Patrick's Day. Ann spent her summers on her family's farm on Prince Edward Island where she developed her profuse love for animals of every size (except snakes). "Grammy " will be missed dearly by everyone who was lucky enough to have met her.
