Peacefully at Granite Ridge Orchard House Stittsville Ontario on Sunday April 14th, 2013 in his 91st year. Loving husband of the late Eileen M.(Tisdall).  Much loved father of Jim (Heather) Bob (Liz) and Cathy. Loving Grandfather (Poppa) to Scott, Christy, Whitney, Kelsey, Katie, Alison and Hilly and Loving Great Grandfather to Nicholas, Abby and Corson. Ken served with the RCMP prior to joining the Canadian Pacific Railway for a number of years in Toronto, before becoming Field Supervisor with the United Transportation Union. Ken ended his career as the Canadian Director of Public Relations for the UTU in Ottawa, Ontario.   He was a 32nd Degree Mason as well as a member of the Tunis Temple Shriners and also a Jester. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline Rd and Bayshore Drive) Nepean on Friday April 19th from 6 to 9 pm.  A private family funeral will be held Saturday at the Capital Memorial Gardens

Scharf – Edith May (neé Christy)

November 10, 1912 – April 15, 2013

Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, April 15, 2013 in her 101st year. Beloved wife of 63 years of the late Elmer R. Scharf (1998). Survived by her loving daughter Gloria Biickert (Abe); loving and devoted grandchildren, Robert Webster and Roseann Farrell (Norman) and 2 beautiful great granddaughters Holly and Abby Webster. She will also be greatly missed by her several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Walter and Emily Christy; sisters Edna Winnifred Christy (infancy), Gladys Scharf (Albert), Ivy Scharf (Gordon), Hazel McMahon (John) and brother Allan Christy (Mina). Special thanks to all her caregivers who brightened her days with their cheerfulness and encouragement and also to Dr. Puxty for her gentle care and compassion. Friends may visit at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr., Kars (East of Hwy 416) on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Rideauvale Cemetery. Dear mother of Patricia (Ralph Raymond), Scott (Carol Ann), Peggy, and Pam (Gary Gibbons). Loving grandmother to Jarrett (Anita), Cara (Jeff), Melissa (Kyle), Krista (Travis), and Shawn (Veronica), and great grandmother to Sydney, Brooklyn, Hudson, and Justice. She is survived by her only brother Kay Coleman. A private family service will be held. Curry, Elizabeth “Betty”

Peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in her 99th year. Devoted wife of the late Philip Curry. Mother of Michael and Tim. Grandmother of Diana, Jessica (Marc), and Andrea (Eric) and great-grandmother of Ryan, Shane, Aiden, Jake and Owen. Betty was a faithful parishioner of All Saints Anglican Church, Westboro, Enrolling Secretary Mothers’ Union, a Nursing Sister of the British and Canadian Red Cross, Certificate from Cambridge University, Honours B.A. and Masters candidate Carleton University. Friends may attend a graveside interment of Cremated Remains in the Curry Family Plot at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 1 p.m.

Peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the age of 61 years.  Beloved husband of Gail (Wright).  Dear father of Laurie (Dominique Desrochers), John Crispin, Krystal Scarbo, and step father of Ryan Turcotte.  Loving grandfather of Corrine Orum, and Cassandra Desrochers. Son of Georgette Shepherd and the late Jim Scarbo. Brother of Heather Penny (the late Jim). Jensen -  Joyce Anna (née Miluck).

 

Peacefully at her home in North Gower on Friday, April 12, 2013 in her 83rd year.  She is best known for her generous hugs and will be greatly missed by her four children, Julie Jensen-Sinclair (Bruce) of Ottawa, Bob (Claire) of North Gower, Barbara Saad (Samir) of Toronto, and Nancy Coulter (Randy) of Kanata, her 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters Dorothy Browne and Betty Gray (Frank) and her group at Curves in Barrhaven.  Joyce is predeceased by her husband Ivan Roland Jensen (2001) and brother George Miluck (1993).  A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Those wishing may make memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
