April 2, 1957 - March 16, 2013

Marlene died peacefully in her sleep, most likely from a massive stroke.  No words can express the loss felt by her partner and spouse of sixteen years, Ellen Bell (nee Shapiro).
An accomplished and versatile person, Marlene had been slowed down by but gamely dealt with severe depression as well as fibromyalgia. None of this stopped her, however, and she thrived on kayaking and riding her motorcycle in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter. Also mourning her loss are members of Ellen's family as well as her daughter, Mallory Nuttall and members of the Milne family.  A private celebration of Marlene's life will be held at a later date.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will hopefully help others to avoid such sudden death. If you wish to contribute to a charity of your choice in memory of Marlene, that would also be appreciated.
A kind and loving soul who wanted only to help others, may she remain in our hearts forever.
