Neddow, William

Wiiliam Gerald Neddow

Date of death: October 02, 2012

Bill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the age of 72 years.  Loving husband of Beryl (nee Scott).  Adoring father of Krista and Andrew (Crystal).  Enthralled grandfather of Eleanor.

Bill began his career in journalism before turning his talents to the public service.  He retired from the Department of Finance in 1997 and found a true passion in woodturning.  This hobby became all-consuming and lead to his discovering a second family of woodturners from all around the world.  His background in journalism lead to a great interest in social justice around the world.  The first line of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights were words that he lived by.  “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”

Many thanks to the staff at the Queensway Carleton and the Ottawa Hospitals.  Supporting friends over the years have been a true blessing.  Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 from 6- 8 pm and at Kanata United Church,  33 Leacock Drive, Kanata on Friday from 1- 2:30 pm followed by a service at the church at 2:30 pm.  Interment at Highland Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
